Bobby Samini head trial attorney at Samini Scheinberg PLC was a guest on Fox TV ‘s Good Day LA speaking about the controversial case against ex-LA County Sheriff Lee Baca. Samini a well known attorney who has represented many high-profile clients, including serving as lead counsel to former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling in highly publicized litigation with the National Basketball Association, TMZ, and V. Stiviano.[3] Samini also represents several class action plaintiffs against Zillow in an ongoing lawsuit connected with numerous employment law violations and financial management firm SAIL Venture Partners in a breach of contract action brought by Award-winning singer and actress Cher.

Samini provided legal insights on the withdrawal of the guilty plea from Baca once Judge Percy Anderson rejected the plea for 6 months of jail time. Samini said “Baca served for a long time, I think he did a lot of good as well”. “But the fact of the matter is you can’t go intimidating FBI agents and then lying to the FBI and trying to cover this up. This was pretty serious stuff.”

Samini said he’s heard that prosecutors will amend the charges and add new charges, which means Baca could face more than five years.

“I think what’s going to happen is he’s going to make a deal between now and September,” he said. “I think it’s probably going to be a deal that lets the judge sentence him to up to five years, but the recommendation will be lower and I think that’s probably the smart play right now.”
